A Certified Public Accountant since 1986, Karen spent over seven years with a national accounting firm. As a staff accountant she gained experience in tax preparation and taxation, and was in charge of large governmental, nonprofit, bank, and insurance audits. Upon moving to Albuquerque, she worked as an accounting supervisor for a large healthcare company until she opened her own practice in 1996.

Karen’s extensive experience spans banking, construction, attorneys, doctors and dentists, consultants and engineers, restaurants and retail establishments, as well as continued work with nonprofit organizations and individuals.

Karen runs our Accounting and Bookkeeping Services department where she helps businesses understand their numbers and how they can manage better by the numbers.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Mexico Society of CPAs, and the New Mexico Estate Planning Council. She is a past president of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She was also treasurer of the Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence, a nonprofit she helped establish.
